I met up with Beach Bunny at Muir Woods with an opportunity to chat and take some photos.

This was their first time playing shows in California. The Chicago-based band acknowledged that these shows have been the furthest they’ve gone to play thus far in their careers. Beyond touring, this had been the first time in California for most of the band.

There’s an allure to being a musician on the road. Traveling the country, experiencing things and places for the first time, and doing something you enjoy for a job almost every night. For Beach Bunny, there were the quintessential things like visiting the Golden Gate Bridge and coming to find out that In-N-Out isn’t as good as everyone hypes it up to be.

There is the other part of being a musician that is not often talked about. They're purposely touring through just the western half of the country and having their last show end a few days before the start of the fall semester. School, jobs, relationships, and more are all kinda put on hold while you’re on the road and you learn that it's all about balance. That balance for them is playing shows when they can while juggling their lives outside the band.
